OUR MISSION

Skin seen differently

This means better ingredients, personalised compounds you can’t get anywhere else, and a completely different screening process.

Founded to make expert dermatology accessible

Dermatica was founded in 2018 by Dwayne D’Souza. He felt that high-quality dermatology-recommended evidence-based prescription skincare was out of reach for the vast majority of the population. He created Dermatica to change this.

“We’re on a mission to make expert dermatology advice and evidence-based treatments accessible and affordable to everyone.”

Dwayne D’Souza, CEO & Founder

Who are we?

Serious Scientists
Dermatica is the fusion of a multidisciplinary team encompassing consultant dermatologists, pharmacists specialising in dermatology, GPs, clinical researchers and formulation scientists. We use technology to achieve something which is not possible in the traditional clinic. The average doctor spends very few, if any, days at medical school or as a junior doctor studying acne, for example, while at Dermatica we have spent hundreds of hours developing our clinical pathways for treating each skin condition we cover effectively.

What we do?

Effective, accessible skincare
At Dermatica, we’ve done something unique which no other dermatologist or GP can offer. We created a compounding pharmacy.

A pharmacy which “compounds” or creates customised medicine at the request of a prescriber. All medicines are produced in our own specially designed clean rooms on a daily basis. This allows us to personalise the medicine according to the individual needs of the patient. The personalisation happens on an on-going basis which allows us to continually personalise the treatment to suit the customer’s skin as it changes over time. We also offer the ability to combine ingredients to treat the individual needs of patients.

Why we do it?

We believe people deserve access to information that’s actually correct, and treatments that actually work.
Dermatica invests millions into the development of our platform and enhancing our clinical knowledge. Our systematic reviews and regular advisory panels from the leading dermatologists provides us with the most up-to-date advice. As part of our mission we aim to make the valuable research “open source” so that everyone can access and benefit from our efforts.

We aim to provide a single resource for information including cosmetic ingredients, everyday skincare advice and clinical advice. The information will be relevant to everyone across the world whether they are a board-certified dermatologist or a customer interested in how to improve their everyday skin routine.
